Chettinad Mansions

Chettinad architecture has a unique construction with big halls  and courtyards using luxurious elaborate materials like Burma Teak, Belgian Glass, vivid colour ceramic tiles, wooden pillars with carved brackets. It is designed in such a way that the house is lit by sun throughout the day and keeps the rooms cool during summer. Most of the houses are palatial buildings with a number of rooms. They have incorporated the  architecture and style of different countries they visited. The furniture, utensils and cuisine are unique and matchless. There are houses with 100 windows, which stand as a unique design of Chettinad architecture.
